On 28–29 September 2026, two-days meetings will take place in Venice at the “Gianni Milner” Library, Fondazione Ugo e Olga Levi, organised by the ERC AdG project LAUDARE (University of Trento), Fondazione Ugo e Olga Levi and Accademia “San Marco” Pordenone.

The fifteenth century saw a remarkable flowering of the lauda across the Veneto, cultivated by élites, lay confraternities and clergy alike. Innovations often travelled under the name of Leonardo Giustinian (1388–1446), while in Friuli the fourteenth-century lauda persisted through the Battuti companies — to which the Pordenone humanist Pietro Edo (1426–1504) belonged.

Two days examining continuities and ruptures between major and minor centres of laudistic production, in three sessions: Giulio Cattin’s contribution to lauda studies; the figure of Pietro Edo; and a material and musicological analysis of the laudario Marciana Ital. IX 145.
